As a 501(c)(3) faith-based nonprofit organization, Wheels of Joya is not just a nonprofit, we’re a family on a joyful mission. Founded by Mary and Hannah Joya, a dynamic mother-daughter duo, we discovered our purpose through a 28-year journey of caring for Dr. Danny Joya, who was completely paralyzed. While we always hoped for his recovery, we found an even bigger calling, bringing love, light, and joy to those who feel overlooked.
Throughout our journey, we met people from all walks of life, each facing their own struggles. Rather than letting adversity diminish their spirits, we chose to spread joy. The circumstances never changed, but our hearts did. Dr. Danny would roll into nursing homes, lighting up every room with his smile, while Mary and Hannah hosted uplifting church services and lively parties. We realized this was our true calling—keeping the spirit of love, hope, and connection alive.
Our mission is simple: to bring purpose and connection to those navigating hard seasons. We believe every person has a story, and everyone deserves to be celebrated. Whether it’s organizing festive parties for those with special needs or brightening the day of nursing home residents, Wheels of Joya is all about filling lives with happiness. Our experiences are designed to bring joy and connection to those who need it most.
In loving memory of Dr. Danny Joya, we honor his legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering hope. Even in the face of unimaginable challenges, he taught us the power of faith, family, and laughter. As a family, we’re dedicated to sharing that same love with our community because we truly believe laughter is the best medicine. With family, friends, and faith, we can make someone’s day brighter.
Together, we’re spreading warmth, joy, and cheer wherever we go. Wheels of Joya is all about bringing faith, hope, and love to those facing hopelessness.
At Wheels of Joya, we are driven by faith, hope, and the belief that every person deserves to feel seen and celebrated. Our mission is to bring joy and connection to those facing challenges, reminding them that they are not alone. Together, we can make a meaningful impact—one act of kindness at a time
